Job Title: Acute Care Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Physical Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Candidate must have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Must be able to travel between facilities for patient care. Description: Position will float between units as per unit needs. No on-call or weekend shifts are required. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:20 AM to 5:50 PM. The therapist will be responsible for providing care in the acute care setting and treating outpatients in the afternoon. Expected patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:10. Candidates will work with a variety of patient diagnoses including deconditioning, weakness, impaired balance, and post-operative recovery. Special skills required include knowledge of adaptive devices, gait training, and various therapeutic techniques. The position involves working collaboratively within a therapy team of professionals. Travel to a sister facility for outpatient coverage will be necessary. Candidates should have strong time management skills and be able to effectively educate patients and families. No wound care responsibilities are involved in this role. Traveling professionals may be required to float between facilities.
